Reverend Charlie James Stringfellow, Jr., of 605 Summersby Street in Chester, South Carolina passed on Friday, September 4, 2020 at MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center.
Reverend Charlie James Stringfellow, Jr., also known as Pastor C.J. Stringfellow, Jr., was born on April 21, 1965 in Chester County, South Carolina to his proud parents Reverend Charlie James Stringfellow, Sr., and Magdalene Bell Stringfellow. Reverend Charlie was the oldest of three children.
At an early age Reverend Stringfellow gave his life to Christ and became a member of Sandy River Missionary Baptist Church in Chester, South Carolina. He graduated in 1983 from Chester Senior High School, in Chester, SC and attended Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina.
Pastor Stringfellow was called into the Ministry on October 16, 1996. He was a Minister of Music and directed the choir for over twenty years. He was an Associate Pastor of Boozer Chapel Baptist Church in Newberry, SC under the leadership of his uncle Reverend Dr. Bill Stringfellow, He was ordained on July 16, 2017.
After serving as Interim Pastor for a couple month, New Beginnings Christian Church prayerfully chose Pastor Charlie James Stringfellow, Jr., as its Pastor in July of 2017. New Beginnings Christian Church has seen increased membership under the leadership of Pastor Stringfellow. He had a great fondness for children, and he was very actively involved in making sure each child was actively involved in the church and that they accomplished good grades in school.

Stringfellow, Sr., and Magdalene Bell Stringfellow of Chester, South Carolina; his children, Byron Chambers, Cornelius Chambers, Terquilla Hughes (Markel), Precious Stringfellow, Jessica Brown and Jaden Brown all of Chester, SC; Cedric (Ashley) Brown, Union, SC; Special Relative Javace Evan, Iris B. Wilson and Ira’yain Mitchell all of Rock Hill, SC; brother Reverend Earl P. (Carolyn) Stringfellow, of Winnsboro, SC; sister Vickie (Michael) McCree, of Chester, SC; father-in-law James McNeil, Sr.; mother-in-law Classie Sanders McNeil, both of Chester, SC; brother-in-law James (Shelia) McNeil, Jr., of Union, SC; sister-in-law Tammy McNeil-McIlwain, of Chester, SC; 23 grandchildren and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousin and friends
