Martha Woodard Heath, was born on January 19, 1937, to the late Andrew and late Hattie Mae Woodard in Blackstock, South Carolina. She departed this life on August 8, 2023.
She spent her early childhood in Chester County where she worked as a domestic worker. She later married Matthew Heath Sr (Deceased), and to this union three children were born. She later met her partner, Norman Moore (Deceased) and to this union a daughter was born.
Martha relocated to Newark, NJ in the early 1960s where she worked in manufacturing and later worked for Paragon Cosmetics in Carteret, New Jersey, until her retirement at the age 62.
Martha was a bright light with a young spirit, kind and generous to a fault. She was very funny, loved her music and enjoyed being around fun loving people.
Martha loved cooking, but didn't realize she was cooking for two and not twelve!
After her retirement, Martha became an avid traveler, often traveling to Atlantic City, Las Vegas and oh so many places in between. Just as long as she was in charge of the music (blues to hip-hop) she was content and happy and never complained.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughters Priscilla Ann Heath (Rock Hill, SC), Linda Denise Heath (Hillside, NJ); her grandchildren: Eric Johnson (Chester, SC), Travyon Heath (Columbia, SC), Dontavious Heath (Rock Hill, SC); her great-grandchildren: Alayah Heath (Columbia, SC), Taylen Heath Rock Hill, SC), Princeton Heath (Greenville, SC); her sisters: Mary W. Strong (Blackstock, SC), Rosie L. Young (Eddie Sr.) (Baltimore, MD), Marguerite Surles (Eugene) Balimore, MD), Tammy Woodard (Charlotte, NC) and a whole host of Nieces, Nephews, relatives and family friends.
She was preceded in death by her two sons, James M. Heath and Matthew Heath, Jr., her great-grandson Prince Heath and her brother Willie Foster.
