On Monday, December 14, 2020, Lugenia Long, also known as “Aunt Lou” transitioned from earth to eternal peace and heavenly rest. Aunt Lou was born on April 30, 1926, in Chester County, South Carolina, to her loving parents, Jack Long, Jr., and Inez Hope Long Miller.
Confessing Christ at an early age, she joined Old Mt. Oliver Baptist Church in Chester, South Carolina. Aunt Lou was educated in the public schools of Chester County South Carolina. She met and married Clarence Caldwell. She worked at Milliken Mills for many years until she retired.
Aunt Lou was preceded in death by her parents Jack Long and Inez Hope Long Miller;husband Clarence Caldwell; her sister Henrietta Long Brown; brother Sam Long; stepsister Peggy Miller and niece Edna Miller Mapp.
Aunt Lou leaves to cherish her memories; stepsister and stepbrother, Laura Miller and Johnnie Miller, both of Columbus, Ohio; grand nephews and great nieces, Matthew (Katie) Mapp, of New York, and his children Marquise (Stephanie) Tobias, Breon Gordon, and Anthony Allen; Tina Cook and her son, Wallace Kennedy Cook, Jr., and his father Wallace Kennedy Cook, Sr.; Tracey Mapp (Troy) Williams and their daughter, Trinity Williams, Atlanta, Georgia ; Mark Mapp and his children, India Jackson, Tamara White, Whitney Jeter, Jarvis Feaster, and Zoe Mapp Brown; Teresa Davis and her Children, Edward Davis, Jr., and Talajah Davis; and Jermaine (Lyntay) Mapp and their daughter, Jermany Mapp; and John Robert Caldwell of whom she reaised. Aunt Lou leaving her amazing friends Mint Boyd, Adlien Keenon , Thursday Night Family and along with the East Chester and Chester Community. Aunt Lou loved people and she leaves a host of friends that will forever hold her memories near to their hearts.
