Mr. Joe Harrison Culp Sr., a native of Chester, South Carolina passed on December 4, 2020 at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill, SC . He was born on May 5, 1922 and was the son of the late Joseph and Minnie Culp.
Mr. Culp grew up picking cotton throughout his entire childhood. He later worked and retired from the coal yard and was a Truck Driver for 30 years plus years for Chester Oil Company. To know him was to love him. He was a very hardworking man and believed in taking care of his family. Making people laugh was just natural for him. He was known for always put a smile on the faces of everyone he came in contact with. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
Mr. Culp was married to Maggie Bell Jackson Culp. To this union, they were blessed with 10 children. After Maggie’s death he and Edna Mae Minter joined and became very special to each other like husband and wife. They continued their life together until her passing.
Mr. Culp was preceded in death by his wife Maggie Bell Jackson Culp; four of his children Josephine Dunovant, Matricia Mayfield, Maggielean Jackson and John Willie Jackson; and his special friend Edna Mae Minter
He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Joe Culp, Jr., (Lavada), Charles Culp (Sheila), Theodore Culp, James Culp, Dorothy Dunovant (John), Eddie Strong (Harriett), Cindy Minter Evans, Patty Hicks (Jacky), Theodore Minter, Wallace Minter and Johnny Minter; exceptional caregivers, Sheila Worthy and Bianca Garcia; a host of grandchildren great-grandchildren and two nieces Hope Evans and Ruth Cash.
Family will recieve friend at the home of his daughter Dorothy "Dot" Dunovant 104 Peace Street Chester, SC. .
