Janice Mack-Wilkes Obituary

We are sad to announce the passing on Ms. Janice Juanita Bostic Mack Wilkes of 344 Marshall Street, Rock Hill and formerly of Chester, South Carolina. Ms. Wilkes passed on January 2, 2023 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Family will recieve friends at the home of her granddaughter Tiffany Feaster 4688 Madeline Drive, Rock Hill, South Carolina. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by the Wilkes Family and the Funeral Home. Please keep the Wilkes Family in your prayers.

 Heaven opened its windows over Newark, New Jersey on November 11, 1936, and sent a beautiful baby girl, Janice Juanita Bostic, as a blessing to her parents, Mildred Williams Bostic and Harold Bostic. Janice went on to live a stellar life that awarded her the affectionate names of, “Ma, Grandma, Nanu and Mrs. Mack or Mrs. Wilkes by those who knew and loved her best. 

  God beckoned her back to heaven on Monday, January 2, 2023, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Janice shed her earthly body and was united in heaven with her parents, and now lives eternally with Our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.

Janice was a bright child and was educated in the Catholic Schools, in Newark New Jersey where she graduated from. She also attended the Juilliard School in New York where she learned how to sing Opera. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Chester, SC. The love of caring for others Janice was a Certified Nursing Assistant, She was employed for many years for Chester County South Carolina School System as a Bus Driver and she also worked for Head Start as a Bus Driver.

Janice was united in marriage to Clyde Thomas Mack and to this blessed union, three wonderful children: Charles, Lia, and Andre were born.  She later united into marriage to Jessie Julian Wilkes, Sr., and two wonderful children: Jessie Jr. and Natasha were born.

 She was admired for her constant strength and courage in the face of adversity, as was evidenced when she was diagnosed with cancer. She accepted her illness, trusting in God, and did not allow it to deter her spirit or faith.  Fearless until the end, her illness would not define her or prevent her from living life to its fullest.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Jessie J. Wilkes, Sr., her sons, Andre D. Mack, and Jessie J. Wilkes Jr.

She leaves to cherish memory: her daughters, Lia Y. Mack (Bobby McCullough) of Rock, Hill, SC, Natasha M. Smith (Erik) of Blythewood, SC, and her son, Charles T. Mack of Rock Hill. SC. She has two bonus children, Tropeaka Gregg and Wanto Wherry. One sister, Ann Lawson of Oklahoma. Janice has 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 niece. She had a host for other family members and friends.
