Obituary

Mr. Willie Mac Smith, affectionately known as "Mac" or Uncle Mac" transitioned to his heavenly home on June 21, 2014.  He was born on July 9, 1935 to the late Willie and Ruby Smith, in Leeds, South Carolina. Mac served faithfully as a member and Chairman of the Trustee Board at the Purity Baptist Church where he committed his life to Christ. His honorable military duty (United States Army) and professional career led him to many places across the world.  He worked as a General Foreman for Daniel Construction Company for many years, during the construction of the V.C. Summer Nuclear Station in Jenkinsville, SC.  Later, he worked for various construction firms as Foreman.  Mr. Smith was a "master" of all trades, a passionate cook, gardener, fisherman, and hunter.  If it could be fixed, Mac could fix it or tear it up!  If you needed a part, bolt, screw or tool, Mac had it!   If it needed to be pushed, pulled or towed, Mac was willing and able! If you desired an "excellent" meal, at any time, Mac's house, as Master Chef, at the grill was the place to be!  To know Mac was to truly love him, he was dedicated and committed to his church and family, he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donnell Smith and a brother Eugene Smith.  He is survived by his wife, Daisy L.
