Rock Hill, South Carolina~ Mrs. Sophie Mae Blake Samuel Hope of 1878 King Drive in Rock Hill, South Carolina passed on November 18, 2013 at the home of her daughter surrounded by her family. Celebration of life services will be 2PM Saturday, November  23, 2013 at Rock Grove AME Zion Church with the Reverend Titus Thorn, Officiating, and Assisted by Presiding Elder Sharon Jenkins, Reverend  John Brown and Reverend Otis Stroud. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of York County, South Carolina, Sophie was preceded in death by her parents Mr. Jeff B. Blake Sr. and Mrs. Willie Mae Neely Blake. Mrs. Hope is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Mary J. Edwards, Ms. Lula B. Samuel and Mrs Willie Mae Jamerson, all of Rock Hill, South Carolina; three sons Mr. Moses Samuel, Jr., of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Mr. Jack Hope (Audrey)) of Weddington, North Carolina, and Mr. Sam Hope, III (Regina) Morrow, Georgia; one sister Mrs. Tinnie B. Moore; one brother, Mr. Charlie S. Blake (Sarah), both of Rock Hill, South Carolina; one aunt, Mrs. Lucy Thompson of South Plainfield, NJ., 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter Mrs. Mary J. Edward 848 South Confederate Street in Rock Hill, South Carolina. In Lieu of flower the family has ask that memorials in memory of Mrs. Sophie Hope be sent to the Rock Grove AME Zion Church Building Fund or Hospice and Community Care 2275 India Hook, Rock Hill, South Carolina.
