Mrs. Minnie Lucille Feaster Campbell, affectionately known as "Lou" of 1125 Sylvia Hicklin Drive in Chester, South Carolina died on December 31, 2012 at her home.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 5, 2013 with family visitation starting at 12 noon at Gethsemane Baptist Church 807 Darby Road in Chester, South Carolina with the Reverend Dr. Charles Pratt, Sr, officiating, with the Reverend. Terry O. Feaster, Presiding, and assisted by the Reverends Julia Hemphill, Ferlin Feaster, Jelester Sanders, Barbara McClinton and James Owens. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
A native of Fairfield County, South Carolina Mrs. Campbell was born on June 14, 1922 the daughter of the late William Feaster and the late Emma Crosby Feaster. She was educated in the Chester County Public Schools. At an early age she joined St. Paul Baptist Church in Lowrys, South Carolina. After being joined in marriage to the late Marion "Blue" Campbell she joined Gethsemane Baptist Church, Chester, South Carolina. She was a faithful member of the Vocal Choir, Sunday School, kitchen committee and A.P.&B Society #4. She was also a member of Queen Bathsheba Chapter #7 Order of Eastern Stars.
She loved to cook, make quilts, and canned fruits and vegetables for her family. She shared what she had with family and friends.
Minnie Lucille Feaster "Lou" Campbell was married to the late Marion "Blue" Campbell for fifty-eight years and to this union fourteen children were born. She was preceded in death by four children and most recently by Robert Allen Campbell, the baby of them all.
She leaves a treasure of fond memories to seven sons, Bobby Marshall (Mary Ann) Campbell, Guy (Maggie) Campbell, James Wylie (Patricia) Campbell, Larry (Rosetta) Campbell, all of Chester, SC; Manuel (Gloria) Campbell, Willie (Betty) Campbell, both of Charlotte, NC; a grandson that she helped raise Vernon (Angie) Cathcart, Charlotte, NC; five daughters, Christine (John) Underwood, Laura Campbell both of Chester, SC, Dyotha (Leander) Cathcart of Charlotte, NC, Luella (Charlie) Swilley, of Detriot, MI; a loving granddaughter and daughter she raised, Beverly (Oscar) Buchanan, Rock Hill, SC; daughter-in-law Rosalyn Campbell, Rock Hill, SC; son-in-law that preceded her in death Raythell Meadows; two brothers, Frazier Feaster, McConnell, SC, Andrew (Syvilla) Feaster, Rock Hill, SC; five sisters, Erma Rainey, Chester, South Carolina, Christine Sapp and Bertha Feaster, Rock Hill, SC, Mary (Willie) Bruce, Patrick Springs, Maryland, Willie B. Lloyd, Charlotte, NC; sister-in-law, Betty Feaster, Rock Hill, SC; 33 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 28 great great grandchildren; devoted caregiver Nellie Jeter, and loving and devoted niece Madeline Kay Miles; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family will receive friends at the home 1125 Sylvia Hicklin Drive in Chester, SC.
Viewing will be at the funeral home on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 3:00 until 5:45 and Eastern Star Rites will be at the funeral home at 6:00 PM.
