Funeral service For Mr. Hilliard K. Clark will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church 807 Darby Road in Chester, South Carolina with the Reverend Dr. Charles Pratt, Officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service.
Mr. Hilliard K. Clark was born in Chester County, South Carolina on, September 9, 1928 to the parents of the late Mr. Charlie Clark and the late Mrs. Annie Mae Young-Clark.
Hilliard, being an obedient servant, answered the call of his Master and went quietly to sleep on Friday, January 31, 2014 at the home of his daughter and caregiver Lucinda Clark-Worthy 2829 Pilgrim Road in the Wilksburg Community of Chester County, South Carolina.
Hilliard accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Chester, SC, where he served faithfully and upon his death he was the oldest member of the church. He was an Army Veteran. He was educated in the public schools of Chester, SC and graduated from Finley Senior High School. He was preceded in death by his wife the late Arsonia Jackson-Clark.
Mr. Hilliard K. Clark leaves to cherish fond memories his children Melvin Hilliard (Diane) Clark, East Orange, NJ, Mary Ann Clark (Melvin) Johnson, Englewood, NJ, Hilliard (Anita) Clark, Lucinda Clark-Worthy, Tammy Mack, Danita (Ben) Rice, Natashia (Terry) Harris, Annette Mack, Jimmy (Teresa) Hardin, all of Chester, South Carolina, Cornelious (Sharon) Mack, Goldsburg, NC, and Izetta (Pastor Donnie) Dye, Rock Hill, SC; special niece Doris (Herbert) Young, Greensboro, NC; and 33 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren; devoted friends Robert "Turk" Wilson, and Floyd Grant both of Chester, South Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM.
Family will receive friends at the home of his daughter Lucinda Clark-Worthy 2829 Pilgrim Road in the Wilksburg Community of Chester County, South Carolina.
