Mr. Heyward Smith, Sr., of 542 Carolina Drive, Chester, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest at his home on Thursday, April 23, 2026.

Born on September 30, 1953, in Fairfield County, South Carolina, he was the beloved son of the late John Smith, Sr. and Emma Glenn Smith.

Mr. Smith was a devoted husband to Kathy M. Smith and a loving father to Heyward (JáVonna) Smith, Zane (Asha) Smith, and Cierra S. White. He was also a proud grandfather of five.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul.” — Psalm 23:1–3

The family will receive friends at the home beginning Friday, April 24, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. daily.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced at a later time by the family and the funeral home.
