In Loving Memory of Mrs. Ethel Mae Savannah Underwood Atkinson

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Ethel Mae Savannah Underwood Atkinson of Chester, South Carolina, who departed this life on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

Born on May 30, 1931, in Abbeville, South Carolina, Mrs. Atkinson was the cherished daughter of the late Chester Arthur Underwood and the late Gertrude McAdams Underwood. She was united in marriage to Richard S. Atkinson, and from their loving union two daughters were born: Rickki Atkinson Worthy and Ellen Atkinson-Erby.

Mrs. Atkinson was a woman of deep faith and a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Chester, South Carolina. She spent her career as a compassionate Home Health Aide, dedicating her life to the care and comfort of others before retiring.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother,great grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her legacy of love, kindness, and quiet strength will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
