Mr. David Douglas Sims, 70, of 3091 Amazon Court, Rock Hill, SC, formerly of Hyattsville, Maryland, heard the call of his Lord and Savior and departed this life at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House on November 1 5,2022 .
Mr. Sims was born on Ma y 2,1952, to the late Otho Eugene Sims and Emma Mary Moore Sims in York County, South Carolina. At an early age, David began working at Carolina Downs Golf Club and American Thread Company located in York County, SC. In the mid-seventies, he relocated to Washington, DC and began working for Red Coats Inc. as a maintenance technician. He'll be remembered for being an avid golfer and his love of traveling state to state,city to city for golfing tournament . Over the years, David won numerous golf tournaments and always shared stories of meeting professional PGA golfers . David was an avid Atlanta Falcons fan and loved watching all sporting events . David was loved and respected by many.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by three brothers; Arthur Sims, Bobby Joe Sims and James Sims; and special cousin , Sammie Mae Moore Cedeno .
Mr. David Sims is survived by his brothers; Sammy Lee Sims of the home, Jerry Sims (Valerie) of Rock Hill, S C, Perry Sims of Washington, D C , three sisters; Josephine Sims, Dianne Sims Isom (Bobby) all of Rock Hill, S C , and Mary Ann Sims of Washington, D C , sister -in -la w Patricia Ann Robinson Sims , and special niece and caregiver Jarilyn Sims -Roddey, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
