IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Darlene (Burris)
Carter
June 5, 1959 – May 31, 2024
It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mrs. Darlene Burris Carter, who left us on the 31st of May, 2024, while surrounded by the love and warmth of her family.
Born on June 5, 1959, in York County, South Carolina, Darlene was the cherished daughter of the late Leroy Burris, Sr. and the late Mary Ruth Wade Burris. Her journey through life was marked by the grace of her spirit and the kindness of her actions. She found her soulmate in the late Reverend Donald Carter, and together they welcomed two beautiful daughters into this world, Liticia Carter Jackson-Villegas and Cassandra Carter.
Darlene's legacy is one of unconditional love and quiet generosity. Her heart knew no bounds when it came to giving, often contributing to the welfare of children in need in Africa and selflessly supporting numerous ministries through her tithing, all without the desire for recognition. Her devotion to her family was unparalleled, and the affection she held for her children and grandchildren stood as a testament to her nurturing soul.
Her path in life led her to serve others through her vocation as a certified nursing assistant, a role in which she cared for many with compassion and dignity.
As we navigate through this time of loss, we wish to honor Darlene's preference for privacy. The funeral services will be held privately, in accordance with her and her family's wishes.
We ask that you keep the Burris-Carter family in your thoughts and prayers during this challenging period. While we mourn her absence, we also celebrate the profound impact she had on all the lives she touched.
May her soul rest in eternal peace and her spirit live on through the goodness she spread in the world.
