We annouce the passing of Mr. Cegrec Steele of 1417 Pondella Drive in Charlotte, NC. Mr. Steele passed on December 23, 2022.  Please keep the Steele Family in your thoughts and prayers.

Cegrec Steele was born on July 28, 1958 to Levi Lisenby and Darthula Steele in Charlotte, NC. Cegrec was born with greenish gray eyes and his family affectionately called him Cateye.  Cegrec entered into eternal rest on December 23, 2022.

Cateye's name was placed on the roll of The United House of Prayer For All People Church of the Church on the Rock of the Apostolic Faith. Cateye honored his faith and was a true believer in the House of Prayer teachings. Cateye was educated in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools.

Cateye was a serial entrepreneur and his last business was owning and operating a detailing car wash business on Beatties Ford Road in Charlotte, NC.  The carwash became the connecting place for him and all of his brothers, family, and friends. Cateye was known to be a very straightforward person. He was a very sociable and was able to meet everyone right where they are. He loved his family and his highlights through the years were the many family gatherings. Cateye loved to cook and he was a true grill master. Cateye had a strong faith and with his faith he overcame many obstacles and life challenges. Cateye embodied love; he had the greatest of love for his children, brothers, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cateye was a true jokester and had a way of making everyone laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. Levi Lisenby and Ms. Darthula Steele; son Mr. Kusegi McClinton and brothers; Mr. Melvin L.  Steele, Mr. Robert L. Steele, Apostle Carnell Steele, Mr. Jerry Bennett.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories his children: Jenelle Cummings, LaGina McClinton, Cemeka Mitchell, Tia'Maria Steele, Cedric Ali Steele, Raven Steele, Charmaine Steele, Melvin Ali Steele; his life partner Jacqueline Crawford; grandchildren: JaQwan Cummings, Travis Crosby, Jr, Kusegi Henderson, Armani Henderson, Jaylan Henderson, Mia R Steele, Riley J Steele, Legend Olawumi, and Khalile P. Thomas; brothers: Mr. David L. Steele, Mr. Samuel Steele, Mr. Tommy Lisenby, Mr. Carl Lisenby, Mr. Levi Steele, Mr. Levi Lisenby, Mr. Toney Steele; sisters: Ms. Dorothy Miller, Ms. MaryAnn Lisenby, and Ms. Shawn Brewton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
