Warrenton, North Carolina-Mr. Gene Mobley of Chester, South Carolina died Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Warrenton Hill Nursing Center in Warrenton, North Carolina.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Blackrock Baptist Church in Chester, South Carolina with Reverend K. F. Threatt, Pastor, Officiating and Burial will follow in the church Cemetery. He will lie in state from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service.

He was a native of Chester County, South Carolina and was the son of the late Doretha Dorsey Mobley and the late Leroy Mobley, Sr. He was a member of Blackrock Baptist Church and graduated from Finley Senior High School in Chester County, South Carolina.

Gene is survived by one son: Gene Mobley, Jr., of Roanoke Rapid, North Carolina, One grandson, KyJuan Mobley, Roanoke Rapid, North Carolina; and two brother, Gary (Betty) Mobley, of Union, New Jersey, and Leroy (Mary) Mobley, Jr., New Jersey.

Viewing will be held on Monday, January 13, 2014 at the funeral home from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Extremely sad that I did not get to see Gene one more time and to hear that he has gone to Glory. I will always remember Gene as true soldier, dedicated, and just a great friemd. Gene, you are missed.
